The long awaited new year is here, and to start up the year, some prominent South African artists have come through to share some new tracks like Ibhodlela, one of whom is Gatsheni, a South African Maskandi artist.

uGatsheni as he fondly writes on his social handle is a South African local singer, dancer, guitarist and composer. He specializes the popular South African music genre which is called Maskandi. Gatsheni has been in the music scene for a good number of years, sharing nice musical works.

In fact, he has been debated to be one of the best Maskandi artists, if not the King Of Maskandi, a title many other South Africans Maskandi artists are fighting over.

Gatsheni is a young and vibrant South African Maskandi singer. He was born and raised in a small village in South Africa, and currently he resides in Johannesburg. From Jo’burg he makes new Maskandi music for his fans.

The prolific singer, Ugatsheni is currently 34 years old as he was born in the year 1989.

Through his musical works, he has been given lots of awards and nominated for many more.

From his young age, Gatsheni has been known to love music and so he ventured into the art of making music from a younger age.

Currently, we do not know if he is dating, married or has any children with hi wife.

Gatsheni – Hit after Hit – To celebrate and welcome the new year, the prolific South African Maskandi singer, UGatsheni decided to drop a brand new single. The song was previewed towards the end of 2023, but was released on streaming platforms on new year.

Ugatsheni – Uyihlo Nonyoko Ep – The project Uyihlo Nonyoko is a body of work crafted by Gatsheni last year 2023. The project is not a studio album, but in it are some tracks many Maskandi lover will be glad to listen to.

Gatsheni Ibhodlela – Earlier this year 2024, it was rumoured that Gatsheni will be dropping another single which will be titled Ibhodlela. The male artist dropped the snippet of the music via his social media platform, and it is not available on other streaming platforms.

Gatsheni Impumelelo Album – Impumelelo is the last studio project from the Maskandi singer. The studio album was officially released on digital platform in 2016, and a few years later it began to gain traction when the artist became popular. Since the release of Impumelelo, Ugatsheni has not released any other project, however he has been sharing some excellent single over the years.

With the release of two singles in 2024, we are optimistic that he will produce a new album for his fans.
