Who is Mthunzi Mdwaba? He is a South African business-man who was born in a rural village called Coville located in the Easter Cape, South Africa.
He is family oriented, proud father of three, two boys and a girl and his wife is also doing great for herself. His daughter is also married and has a daughter and son, making Mthunzi a grand father. Mthunzi who is in his early 60’s is a known entrepreneur and businessman who has built various companies both in the technology and also skills environments.
Prof Mthunzi Mdwaba started out his career as an lawyer, he majored as entertainment and intellectual property practitioner before he ventured into the Music Industry as the Chief Executive Officer of ASAMI (Association of the South African Music Industry) which is popularly known as RISA – Recording Industry of South Africa).
Mdwaba later went on to build companies in the technology and skills environments. He is a serial entrepreneur, businessman.
The South African has a BA degree in Industrial Sociology and African Politics, he graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand (WITS) with an LLB degree.
Among his various companies, he founded and is also the president of TZoro IBC – a strategic business consultancy and investment firm. Through TZoro, Mthunzi has become a successful deal maker, negotiator, human capital development coach, mentor etc. And his services spans across over 190 countries.
Till 2010, Mthunzi was the CEO and Group Chairman of Torque IT. At the time when he bought the firm, it was insolvent, however he along with his team turned it to a huge company that now operates in 27 countries in Africa and its predominant service is Computer Technical Training Solutions. His company is said to be the largest African partner of Cisco and Microsoft.
In 2018, he was made the Chairman of the (UWC) University of the Western Cape Council, and served a four year term. He also became an associate professor in the same university.
