Lvovo Reportedly Misses His Late Friend, Mampintsha

Recent past months have been very hard on many South Africans as many have lost at least a very beloved entertainer, particularly in the music scene.

Over the past 12 months artists from different music genres like; gospel, amapiano, gqom, maskandi. hip-hop etc have been lost to the grip of death.

Just about 7 months ago, in December 2022 Derrango Records released an official statement which read that their boss Lvovo had suffered a minor stroke while on stage performing on a Friday in Johannesburg.

It was on 25th December that that award winning gqom artist whose real name is Thokozani Sphamandla Ndlovu but popularly known by his stage name as L’vovo Derrango was said to have suffered a stroke.

When the news broke, no one knew what to think as the artist was not seen, not his picture nor images, not even a short video nor voice, and it was more than 24 hours getting to 36 hours, his fans began to panic.

L’vovo Derrango (Thokozani Ndlovu), on December 27th 2022 was immediately rumored that he could had passed as the record label did not update his fans, neither did anyone know where he was admitted not any further information about his health status shared.

While the rumours was gaining traction, the record label and he artist’s team has to convince an share more convincing proof to show that the beloved artist still lives.

Luckily, in 2023, he began to recover slightly, and till date he is still recovering, but can move around on his own, even his newest video showed him in his car.

In the recent video he shared, Lvovo Derrango while is his automobile remembers his friend and a fellow Gqom start, Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo who suffered same stroke but did not survive it, and his friend “Mampintsha” passed while he was still in coma.

Mandla aka Mampintsha died a day (24th of December) before the management of Lvovo announced his health condition. Mampintsha passed while in the hospital after he had a stroke.

Lvovo took to his Instagram account to reveal a video clip he made with his late pal and music mate, there he made some statements showing how much he still misses him.

On his Instagram he wrote; “I miss u Mfowami @mampintsha_shimora.”

He further stated he missed his funeral because of his own health condition (remember that Lvovo himself had stroke and was hospitalized for several days, so he could not visit the family of Mampintsha neither did he attend his funeral.

About missing his friend’s funeral, he stated; “I speak to Danger every day. So, I spoke to him during the funeral. Mampintsha knows that I would have loved to be at his funeral. But due to my condition, I watched it from the hospital. But I will visit his grave after I have fully recovered”.

Currently, Lvovo is still managing his health as he has not made a full recovery, in fact he was advised by his doctor to not attend the Cotton Fest Durban which recently took place..
