It is sad and overwhelming to see good music where the big names in the industry fight each other, this is the case of Kendrick Lamar as he delivers a sharp shot aimed at Drake and J. Cole on the uncredited appearance on Future and Metro Boomin’s new 2024 studio album called “We Don’t Trust You,” released just yesterday 22nd March 2024.
Kendrick Lamar is an American based hiphop rapper, an excellent vocalist whose lyrics is simply of high class. On “Like That,” Lamar delivers a fiery verse and at same time steals the attention from both Future and Metro.
He targets Champagne Papi along with J.Cole (another fierce rapper) and speaks about some lines from their already released song, “First Person Shooter” and Drake’s “For All the Dogs” single.
On J.Cole’s “First Person Shooter” he rapped about “big three,” which are Lamar, Drake and himself: Cole rapped, and we quote his lyrics; “Love when they argue the hardest emcee / Is it K. Dot? Is it Aubrey? Or me? / We the big three like we started a league.” Drake also continued as he rapped; “Who the G.O.A.T.? Who you bitches really rootin’ for? Like a kid that act bad from January to November, n—a, it’s just you and Cole.” apparently, Drake hit Lamar on his line. Did he expect a reply from Lamar???
Kendrik Lamar made a come back on “Like That,” he rapped, and we quote his lyrics; “Yeah get up with me, fuck sneak dissing / ‘First Person Shooter,’ I hope they came with three switches,” he continued, “Motherfuck the big three, n—a, it’s just big me.”
Lamar later went ahead to compare himself to Prince, his relationship with Michael Jackson and the quality of music both Drake and J.Cole makes while clearly stating that his legacy will outlast theirs. In his words, he stated; “Your best work is a light pack / N—a, Prince outlived Mike Jack / N—a, bum, ‘fore all your dogs get buried / That’s a K with all these nines, he gon’ see Pet Sematary.”
With Lamar’s vocals on “Like That” he surely stole the spotlight on both the song and Future and Metro Boomin’s long-awaited collaborative studio album “We Don’t Trust You” in general.
The studio album dropped officially on Friday March 22nd 2024, this is the first time the duo are working together to release an album project.
It is important to note also that the second project whose title is yet to be known, will be released officially on April 12.
